The Jittery Judas' July
(Dr Maung Maung Nyo)
July is a mourning month for
Bogyoke was brutally murdered by murderers
In the pay of pernicious politicians and planners
They smothered the bright sons of brightening
(Bogyoke and Sir Hubert Rance at the Burmese Movies Association)
19th July has been the Martyrs’ Day since my schooling
We mourned at moaning siren at ten in the morning
After reading and raving about Bogyoke and colleagues
Scale of ceremonies was just scaled down only with SPDC.
(Bogyoke at the Last Mass Meeting on the City Hall, Rangoon
with U Nu Presiding)
7th July massacre occurred soon after my graduation
I was looking after the patients in KMT confrontation
It was the frontline without any timely information
I knew about it after some time and personal communication.
(Renovated Martyr's Mausoleum for Bogyoke in Yangon)
Ferocity and use of force on 7th July is beyond comprehension
No one can justify it for gunning down the unarmed students
Unless one was obeying the order without any understanding
Even the culprit Ne Win said later it was inexcusable as repent.
(Martyrs or Best Sons of Burma Assassinated with Bogyoke)
Downpours and dreaded storms rage in this season
Floods and flies ravage the country in succession
Disease deprivation decay and depression develop
Democracy progress and peace perish as touch me not!
(Rangoon University Diamond Jubilee Celebration in 1995)
July was named after the Roman hero Julius Caesar
Who was the greatest and most well known Emperor
Won all the battles and beautiful Cleopatra
But succumbed to treachery and murder!
(Rangoon University Students Union with President U Nu
and Aung San, O Way Editor, Siting Extreme Right 1st Row)
Who would have thought Brutus would kill him?
So is the question in Bogyoke assassination!
Did U Saw alone commit the abomination?
Both British and Burmese Brutus were behind his killing.
(Nobel Laureate Daw Aung San Suu Kyi Laying a Wreath
for Bogyoke at the Martyrs' Mausoleum)
No wonder July is the mourning month for
Culpable crimes have been committed in plunder!
(Julius Caesar Being Killed in the Rome Senate)
