My Role Model Colonel Lakshmipathy
(Dr Maung Maung Nyo)
Lakshmipathy was his name
He was a man of fame
Though Indian by birth and name
Burmese liked him all the same.

He looked after patients regardless of race
He treated religion with respect but waive
He paid no attention to position power place
He treated patients for healing as solace;
He was an FRCS surgeon
He also practiced as a physician
He dealt with diseases of women
He operated on them and children.

He called regular clinical meetings
It was held in BMH, Pyin Oo Lwin
Often in Mandalay Institute of Medicine
He was the lead speaker in all disciplines;
He kept his hospital bright and sheen
Every thing was spotless and spit clean
It was the best kept medical institution
Civil & military patients flocked to him.

He selected doctors for postgraduate training
He sent them to reputed institutes of medicine
In UK, USA and others with English-speaking
Many returned with higher qualifications;
He worked from 7 AM to 7 PM every day
He did not count Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays
He was in hospital every day reading or researching
He died sitting on the commode with cardiac infarction.

He died at the prime of his age
He was 39 years old on that date
I found his legacies after he was laid
There were many research papers he made
Many medical instructions up to date
Experimented hetero bone grafts of late
Every thing good at BMH bears his image
I was amazed and humbled by his accolades.
