My Aspirations for Burma

Now that a Black Man has been elected POTUS
That was deemed impossible until he was as such
We may look for the day in Burma to have such fantasy
A real popular leader may also be elected to its presidency.

It’s a long way, of course, to think of such a dream
But without dreaming we may not have such a thing
It’s like "Man walking on the Moon" that was a fiction
But, when it did occur after Kennedy had given direction
Other space programs were made in succession
“It’s just a small step, but a big stride for human being!”

on in the bus not giving up seat to a White)
Obama’s election as POTUS did not begin with him
It started with many valiant Black fighting the restrictions
Rosa Parks continued sitting refusing to give seat to a White
Martin Luther King Junior marching for such Civil Rights
Jesse Jackson and the like plunging into the fights
For equal opportunity, justice and democratic rights
That US Constitutions guaranteed to all its citizenry
But, US never made it easily available to its minorities.
It’s worse in Burma under the present circumstances
People are suffering below the level of sustenance
There is no liberty, equal opportunity or opulence
Most people are living in a condition of social turbulence.

We must therefore strive for the unity of people
We must educate them about the democratic rule
We must prepare them to take part actively through
We must lead and guide them to rely themselves true.
This does not mean they have to depend upon outside
That expatriates or foreigners will take up their fight
That democracy will come automatically to their side
It’s just that we are aiding in their struggles for their rights.

Now Burmese people are fighting for democracy
Sacrificing their lives and liberty inside the country
Some are forming groups abroad for such functions
As information, education and cooperation
So that there will be concerted coordinated action
To fight against injustice, oligarchy and nepotism
They must refrain from internecine words and deeds.
If such activities and actions are accorded
I’m sure Burma will not be far from success
She will regain democracy and independence
People will attain prosperity and development
Health, education and social services will augment
Burma will have her place in international events
Her honour, her pride and rights will be restored
All the Burmese will have a hay day in global galore.
